Eddie was very accommodating squeezing me in last minute on a Saturday. I was his last call of the day and he worked at my home until almost 6:30pm, and made the repair for a house that I was selling that was about to go to settlement. When I called to schedule the repair service, I was transferrd 5 times and spoke with 6 service reps. Each rep was very confused by my request to get my garage door repaired. One rep actually told me that Sears doesn't repair garage doors. I had to tell her that Sears installed the door. When I finally found a rep who could schedule my service, it took one week for the appointment.

Ryan was a great tech , he took apart the opener and checked everything inside and outside and checked the drive chain to make sure that the opener worked correctly. I would highly recommended ryan to check or repair any opener that sears sells.

Once the technician surveyed the the situation he gave me a price. I thought the price for the repair was very high & I refused the service. The next day I had another service come in & give me the price for the same repair. It was less than half the price of Sears. PLEASE DISREGARD THE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TECHNICIAN SINCE HE DID NOT DO ANY REPAIRS!

We had a garage door installed several months back and they hooked up the existing garage door opener to it. After the install of the new door the garage door open worked on and off. I called sears for the repair when the tech came out, he was unable to fix the problem and only wanted us to buy a new garage door opener and then proceed to changed us 75 plus tax for basically a sale call. Very frustrating and the problem is not solved and I am out 75 dollars.

I think the unit can be repaired, then I am told a day later the part to repair it is no longer available, but it only needs a new guy wire, rather than a $125 part. I am offered a $314 new unit, but when I checked Sears online, a new unit is half that price - that was after I was told I would not have to pay a second service fee, so it seems to me the replacement unit I was offered has me again paying for service visit - the mark-up is simply too high when you are selling new units at the store for half that amount. I am about ready to call a different company to fix the unit and no longer patronize Sears.

Service is good. But charges are not reasonable and just. I bought and installed this opener from sears 5 months ago. 3 days ago the laser light just moved and the door was not working . i could not find the reason .The technician came and just moved the sensor light in 1 second job, and simply charged 54 dollar, did not consider I am your customer , and you guys need us in future. If there was a 1 minute job, i could justify your charge. Unfortinatly for 1 second job charged 54 dollar. I do not blame you guys, but you shuold consider not to charge such thing in order to keep your customer. You should have consider that 5 months ago I paid you about 500 dollar for this opener. (bought and install) Thank you

Request broken part and replacement for bottom door strip for garage door. Had broken part replaced but was told to order door strip for garage door and didn't mention follow up after that. Contractor was pleasant, but for resolving out request...it was half completed. Now we are ordering the part from the manufacturer and will be contacting local garage repair company that cost extra for service call (not cheap).

Mr. Steinhauer was very efficient and did an excellent job repairing and replacing the coils on my garage door opener. I always use Sears when I need home repair or replacement. I certainly will continue to do so. In the fall, I hope to use Sears to replace the roofs on both of my homes. Sears is very, very reliable and I trust their service.

The technician, Robert Helton, was very pleasant, helpful, and professional. He repaired the garage door opener expeditiously and explained why it hadn't worked properly. He also checked the chain mechanism and the door itself and showed me how to manually work the door should I need to do that in the future. I was very pleased with this repair work.

He also pointed out a repair I might consider having done (replacement of the bottom panel of my door) and asked the office to follow up with me on this. Someone did follow up with me and since replacement of the bottom panel is not an option and I would have to replace the door, I decided that I can wait.

I just want to commend the excellent job Mr David Stephens did in installing the replacement for my 15 year old Craftsman Door Opener. I was very impressed with his technical knowledge on this new Craftsman Garage Door Model that I purchased (the innovation and features of this new model is remarkable and I consider quite technical)...but the way he explained the controls an features made me understand and feel at ease with it. He completed the installation efficiently and in such a short time (he was not hurrying up...he was just efficient and knows his product well). (my old one is chain driven....while the new one I bought is belt driven). Great friendly personality too.He took the time to explain to me the checklists required after installing the new opener. I was so impressed with him...that when he suggested that I should think about replacing my old rollers with the nylon rollers the next time.....I didn't have second thoughts...I told him that I'm not waiting for the next time. I requested him to replace them too.David is an outstanding asset in your company....I do hope you take good care of him. An additional note: I had an unfortunate experience in the big appliances dept of your store last January. But with David's noteworthy service...it has helped gained 90% of my trust back with Sears. It was down 10% after the sad incident I had last January. My sincerest appreciation for a job well done! .

The first tech that came to repair the garage door opener could not fix the problem. the door would not close completely and I was told that was the best he could do. It was an intermittent problem. I requested another repair and the latest techs repaired the problem quickly and professionally. you figure it out.

I have NO negative comments, except that when I was called at noon and told I was next, I thought he'd arrive well before 4 pm. But when he did arrive, I was thrilled to find out he could repair my garage door opener and I could return the one I just bought! He saved me $150!!! Since I am unemployed, that's a BIG deal! I cannot begin to explain how angry I am that I had to pay an astronomical $130 for a repair on a bad part and or installation done only a few months ago and tonight I get home and parts are falling off the railing and on to my vehicle! I had to open my sun roof and screw the nuts and this black plastic thing back on it. I took pictures and would be happy to supply them to you. I really think I should be credited the cost of the service call. You are very lucky these falling pieces didn't damage car. I'm going to take a closer look in the daylight. At This point I am close to advising my friends to NOT hire Sears for their garage door needs. This is ridiculous!

Problems from first day, tech was very late, couldn't find house despite that we live on a highway and it's an extremely easy address - salesman hard to reach, waited all day for tech and then he left and didn't come back for a long while. - door was installed over old components, I was not informed of this, tech said he informed husband that the old components should be replaced, If this was the case then the door should not have been installed with old components so that there might be problems down the road. Less than 6 months later the door is broken, cost to repair properly is approx 900.00 and I DO NOT have the money for this, so we have to fix it improperly AGAIN for approximately 400.00. I thought this door was fixed and that I would no longer have to worry about it ever again. Sears was once the place you called, my father always used Sears products and services, and I followed suit. I am so disappointed in Sears, the salesman and the tech. We have to put good money after bad; I have no choice at this time but to fix this door improperly again just to get it going long enough to shut it and keep it shut. I would like to ask to return the door and get my money back, but after dealing with the original salesman I feel this would not be a feasible option and that I would get nowhere with this request. The competency of businesses that were once the place to go is sadly gone and my faith is lost in long time staples of the service industry. I left a message for the orignial salesman yesterday and was not even afforded a return call. I would like the door taken off and my money returned.

Your franchise service sent repair men with the wrong opener. Then they tried to "talk me into another opener" I wanted what I want. Customers do not order a red dress and you send them a blue dress, and they are suposed to be satisfied no! They are mad. Makes sure you have what the customer wants in stock before you send out the repair men. They wasted two hours of my Saturday morning. Once the door was done, the repair man was great and professional, and particular about doing a good job. Wasted two hours of my Saturday morning.

I think the overall price for this service is overpriced...the 20 point inspection consisted of WD-40 being sprayed on all rollers and hinges....took less than five minutes, I watched the entire process. Our sensor need realigning ( which they did) and a wing nut to hold it secure...they did not have one with them, said they would bring one the next day and have not yet.

I was able to schedule the Service Technician to come to my house almost immediately. He arrived at the scheduled time and was courteous and professional in demeanor and appearance. The work was done quickly and he explained what he thought caused the problem so it wouldn't happen again. The cost was very affordable. There was even a coupon for $25 off on the website. Technician gave me a window of 1-4pm, I called at 330 to see if he was on his way. He told me he would be there at 4pm, reason being was because of the amount of work orders he had that day. He was also by himself, had no helper. I was very satisfied that he was able to repair my garage door. He was very professional considering he showed up on a Friday afternoon on a 100 degree day. Communication was awful! I repeatedly asked for technician to call my cell phone for communication, since I work. It took four separate phone calls from me for the Sears technician to finally call the right number. Prior to that, messages were left at home, where obviously no one was home, and a phone number to contact the installer was not left. We were also told that we could get an early evening appointment and the window we were given was 2 to 4 p.m. (not early evening). I had to waste a lot of my time at work, making phones calls so Sears could leave him a message. Sears would not give me his phone number to call directly. In addition, the installer said he would wait for my neighbor to show up to make sure door worked properly. He did not! There were no instructions left at our home regarding what code we had to use to open the door and the openers were left inside the garage. If our neighbor hadn't guessed the right combination, we wouldn't be able to get into our home. I'm completely dissatisfied with this experience and doubt I would ever use Sears again for home repair service. -Bob Jones

My garage door sensor was installed higher than normal opener's sensor position. This is the rental house. If tenant has small pet, the opener sensor will not detect the small pet because sensor is installed too hogh. This is a liability issue. I called in this morning. The person answered the garage solutions line told me it's ok. I know this is not ok. I don't know who to ask for correction the sensor position.

I was quoted $200 for the garage door repair and it was $650 after the repairman "gave me a deal" and lowered the price from $800. Then he tried to tell me I needed a new garage door opener for almost $450 discounted from $600 when all he needed to do was adjust the one I had. WHAT'S THE DEAL SEARS!!!!!
